New numbers on The Economist’s global impact

Last week we announced that, working with the Audit Bureau of Circulations, we had released a consolidated media report (CMR) that showed The Economist’s print and digital reach across North America and its reach throughout social networks.

Some of you were curious about our impact globally. Our global (unaudited) numbers for March 2012 were as follows:

– Weekly print and digital circulation for The Economist worldwide in March 2012: 1,621,381

– Weekly Economist app total unique devices: 560,035

– Total page views for The Economist online: 36,596,402

– Global social media interactions for:

– Facebook: 1,009,815

– Twitter: 2,279,796

– YouTube: 502,118

– Tumblr: 43,007

– LinkedIn: 23,003

Do read David Kaye’s post on the significance of publishing these numbers. The CMR itself explains how they are calculated.
