Where and how people use tablets

New research from Forrester has confirmed that people “lean back” while using their tablet. Mobile phones may be for people on the go, but tablets are for relaxing at home, with the overwhelming majority of tablet owners using their device in their living room or bedroom. This lean-back tendency has important implications for the future of advertising. As Lucia Moses writes in Adweek, “Tablets, meanwhile, are most likely to be taken out at home and used for long-term media consumption, so users may be more tolerant of longer ads as long as they don’t get in the way of their media experience.”
