To support one of our major client initiatives, The Economist Group is seeking an experienced project manager to work on a long-term freelance basis and manage the editorial production process of an award-winning global content marketing team. The project manager not only needs to have great attention to detail and be able to “keep the trains running on time”, but also be able to see the big picture and will have experience in longer-range planning.
The ideal candidate is a diplomatic, clear communicator who is adept at working with several departments, managing cross-functional teams and roles while keeping track of the client's wishes and preferences. Calendar and deadline planning and management is key to this position as is the ability to communicate clearly with different departments. This is a client-facing role so experience in this area is a plus.
This project involves working across several time zones, tracking and managing multiple multimedia projects to meet tight deadlines, managing interactions with multiple client stakeholders for regular weekly updates, helping make sure creative content meets marketing goals, designing new project workflows and systems as needed, liaising with internal teams on executing and measuring project results.

A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
Experience with content management systems (required)
Experience troubleshooting CMS’s and working with developers to solve problems
Experience with various formats of digital storytelling - video, blog posts, infographics
Experience working with creative teams
Experience creating processes for teams to run smoothly
Experience tracking and overseeing team budgets
Newsroom management and experience is a plus
Social media experience and familiarity with social media metrics is a plus
Editorial experience is a plus
Newsletter experience is a plus
Willingness to work across time zones
Working knowledge of Power Point and Excel
